LITTLE MO
Little Mo is another of our much-loved long-term foster dogs and has been part of
the BTRF family since 2019.
She came into our care with a challenging combination of long-standing allergy
problems and significant anxieties about the world around her. She was very
hand-shy when she arrived, which meant even routine care had to be approached
slowly and thoughtfully, always ensuring she felt safe and never pushed beyond her
comfort zone.
Through the use of cooperative care techniques and consistent, gentle handling,
Little Mo gradually started to build trust. Her wonderful forever foster carers
continue to work closely with us to support her emotionally and physically, helping
her feel secure and settled in her own time.
Now, as Little Mo approaches her 14th year, she is firmly in her senior stage of life.
Like many older dogs, she has some arthritis, but with careful management and an
appropriate pain medication protocol she remains comfortable and continues to
enjoy her daily routines.
She has recently had a full health check, including a dental scale
and polish and the extraction of one problematic tooth. We are
currently awaiting the results of her bloodwork and urinalysis so
we can ensure her organs are functioning well - and step in early if
any additional support is needed as she ages.
As Little Mo gets older, her care naturally becomes more
specialised and more costly. Regular vet visits, diagnostic testing,
dental care, medication and tailored support all play an important
role in keeping her healthy and comfortable.
Little Mo doesn’t ask for much, but she relies on us to be there for
her - just as we have been since 2019.
If you are able to, please consider sponsoring Little Mo to help us
continue to provide the care she needs in her senior years:
