EDDY
Eddy the Beddy — the end of an era
It is with very heavy hearts that the BTRF team share with our
supporters that our much-loved Eddy the Beddy has crossed
over the rainbow bridge.
Eddy came to us several years ago as a stray, and although his
exact age was unknown, we believe he could have been
around 15 years old this year. From the moment he arrived,
he faced a number of complex medical challenges, including
a very unusual eye condition linked to complications with his
immune system.
In recent months, Eddy’s health began to gently decline. We continued to care for his
eye condition and allergies, he became more arthritic, and early-stage kidney disease
also began to affect him.
His dedicated forever foster carers worked hand-in-hand with us to support him
through everything, and together we did all we could to keep him comfortable,
content and surrounded by love. Sadly, as time went on, his condition worsened, and
he began to lose that little sparkle in his eye and the cheeky, playful personality that
was so completely “Eddy.” With the support and guidance from his vet, and with sad
hearts, his foster family and the BTRF care team knew it was time to let him go
peacefully, with kindness and dignity.
Eddy was a truly special and deeply loved member of the BTRF foster dog family. We
will miss his joy for life, his sweet presence, and the way he made us all smile with his
funny little ways. He leaves a very big space behind him.
We would like to extend our warmest thanks to his devoted foster carers, the
veterinary and care professionals who looked after him, and to you - our supporters -
for helping us to give Eddy such a wonderful life filled with care, comfort and love for
as long as he wanted and needed.
Rest peacefully, Eddy. You will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.
