TEGAN

Forever foster dog, Tegan, would like to Aunty Lisa from Canine Thinking, my

update her sponsors and our supporters foster home and my BTRF care team
with her very exciting latest news! worked really hard getting my diet right

and adding some supplements to help
‘Hi all, you will know me well by now! I
me and it wasn’t long before I was
came into BTRF’s care almost a year and looking and feeling like a different dog.
a half ago and I was in a huge amount of

pain when I arrived. The BTRF care team All was going well but then my foster
allocated to me acted quickly to get me mum and dad noticed that I wasn’t as

the vet care I needed. comfortable in my back and legs, and I
wasn’t as comfy on my little walks and
After I had an MRI scan at a big special
even the laser treatment I was having on
hospital it was clear that all was not well
                                                               a regular basis wasn’t helping. I was
     – I had popped a disc out of my spine, feeling sore again.

and it hadn’t been noticed in my
previous home and nobody recognised Aunties Kaye and Lisa had a good chat

that I was in a lot of pain. The first thing with my lovely vet, and they all decided
BTRF did was to arrange for me to have I am very likely going to need another

some special pills that made me feel so MRI scan to see what’s changed. But to
much more comfortable. Then my lovely make sure my vet had all the information

foster parents did everything the we could give them I was going to have a
hospital asked of them and rested me special assessment!
and took care of me to help me recover
                                                               What happened next was
     over the next few weeks.
groundbreaking and a first for BTRF!!!
When I went for another check up the How lucky am I?!!!
special vet was very pleased and

thankfully the disc in my back had
‘resolved’ – I think that means popped

back in! – and as a result I didn’t need
     surgery – phew!

Then started the long road to helping me

feel so much better because I wasn’t in a
good way – my skin was awful and
     because I hadn’t had a proper diet, and I

had been uncomfortable for a while my
tummy was really messed up and sore.
