  • Who is Little Mo?

I’m a ‘forever foster’ girl and I came to BTRF because I was really scared of the outside world and then one of my family got very ill and they couldn’t keep me, so BTRF kindly took me in.

I will stay with my foster mum forever because I now live in a very quiet place which helps me feel more chilled and less scared of life. My amazing care team keep a very close eye on me to make sure I stay well.

  • Why does Little Mo need sponsoring?

Little Mo is eight years old and she came into the care of BTRF in 2020. She suffers with anxiety to the outside world, and also has allergies which we need to treat on a regular basis.

Little Mo is a real cutie and loves to play with her toys. She also loves being able to sniff and forage in her favourite quiet places with her foster parents.

Little Mo has a very special behaviourist who is helping her manage her anxiety and to understand that the world doesn’t have to be scary. She also needs a specially formulated diet, medication and supplements to make sure her allergies are well managed.

Your support will help pay for Little Mo’s on-going behaviourist help, her medication, supplements and specialist food whilst she lives her very best life with BTRF in foster care.

  • Little Mo Update - April 2026

Little Mo has been in BTRF foster care for the past three years and has captured many hearts along the way.

She has always had some issues with her ears, something that can be quite common in Bedlington Terriers, but until recently these have been well managed with the help of a carefully controlled diet, supplements and medication to support her allergies.

Earlier this year she needed an ear flush and examination under sedation, and during that procedure the vets discovered a small lump inside her left ear canal. Because we felt this is likely to be causing her some discomfort, we arranged for her to see a surgical specialist so we could better understand what might be causing it and what the best options might be to help her.

The specialist has discussed a few possible ways we could move forward:

    • Removing the lump from the ear canal and sending it away for testing
    • Carrying out surgery to improve the ear canal and help prevent ongoing irritation
    • Or, if the problem appears deeper within the ear, a more significant surgery to remove the diseased ear canal entirely

Before deciding on the best option, Little Mo may also need a CT scan so the vets can see exactly what is happening deeper inside the ear and plan the most appropriate treatment.

Little Mo finds ear treatments quite stressful even with careful cooperative handling, so our aim is to choose the option that will give her the best long-term comfort and avoid repeated procedures that she would find difficult to cope with.

As always, Little Mo is being very carefully supported by the BTRF and the veterinary and care teams involved in her care, and together we will work out the best way forward for her.

We’ll keep you updated as we have a clearer idea on the next steps for our special little girl.

  • Little Mo Latest News - August 2025

Afternoon everyone!  How are you enjoying the summer – phew hasn’t it been hot!

Like all sensible dogs I am staying in the shade and chilln’ – absolutely no walks in the heat of the day – I get just a little stroll late at night when it is much cooler and the rest of the day I am either sleeping or doing some fun quiet enrichment stuff to keep me occupied and happy. That’s about all us dogs want to do in this heat.

My latest big news is that me and my foster parents have moved house and now I have a lovely new garden to explore and before it got really hot I was able to enjoy a sunny spot to sunbathe! My foster mum puts my comfy beds in all the right places for me, so I have some sunny spots but also lots of shade! But I am very sensible, and you can often find me in the cool inside too on my cool mat beside the fan!

I am doing well still and really enjoying my new raw rabbit food and rabbit treats. They are certainly agreeing with me and my vet and the BTRF care team are still extremely happy with me. So, if they are all happy so am I!

Well done to my foster parents for looking after me so well too – I am certainly living a very contented life in our new house!

    Summer smiles!

  • Little Mo - Update January 2025

Hello everyone, we thought it was time to update you all with news and progress of our forever foster dog, Little Mo.

Little Mo has been in our care for several years now because she came to us with some tricky allergies – so often the case with the dogs that come into our care – Bedlingtons and their allergies are very common.

She needs regular medication, a formulated diet and supportive supplements to make sure her allergies are well managed and regular health assessments to make sure she stays happy and healthy. Thanks to her ‘Sponsor a Foster Dog’ scheme supporters, we have been able to offer her this care as her treatment is ongoing and will be for the rest of her life.

Just recently she has also been showing signs of some arthritic changes and associated pain – not unusual when a dog moves into their latter years.

But working with her very dedicated foster home, her vet and our appointed canine wellbeing specialist who oversees her care for us, we are on top of this to make sure she is comfortable and able to enjoy life to the full as she heads towards her more mature years.

She is a very happy little girl and is very much loved! Here she is cuddled up with her favourite pink pig!

  • Little Mo - Update October 2024

Evening all – Little Mo here. I thought it was way past time I write you an update as a lot of exciting things have happened to me over the last 2 or 3 months!

Me and the family moved a few months ago to the sunny Isle of Wight and we are loving it here! Once I was settled into our new home and life here it was time to have a big review and assessment for my diet and supplements.

Aunty Lisa who is overseeing my care had a good chat with my foster carers and we changed a few things with my diet and tweaked my supplements. As we Beddies get a little older often diets and supplements do need to be reviewed and changed.

I am now on a lovely rabbit diet which is suiting me really well and my foster parents are doing a great job of looking after my every whim!!! Who says I am spoilt!!! Well at 10 years old now I am entitled to a little pandering!

As I am getting a little older, I am also beginning to get a bit creaky in my joints and my foster home recognised that I wasn’t enjoying my walks quite so much. So straight away Aunty Lisa and Aunty Kaye rallied to help and had a chat with my vet, and I now have some pills to pop which are making me feel soooooo much better.

I have just had a check-up at my lovely vets, and they are really pleased with me – my ears are doing great, I am so much less itchy, and my coat is in super shape! It is clear that the new diet and the special supplements are really starting to work now, and I feel so much better than when I first arrived in BTRF’s care.

This is all thanks to my care team here at BTRF, my foster parents and of course you, our supporters. Without the donations you so kindly make there is no way I would be as happy and healthy as I am now – which means I am able to really enjoy my senior years! So, thank you

OK I am just back from my afternoon stroll and now off to snuffle some goodies from my new sniffle mat – one of my favourite pastimes!!!!
