I have been around dogs my entire life and have been training dogs as a volunteer obedience and agility instructor for approaching 35 years. However, it’s with our current dogs, Reuben, a Bedlington Terrier cross Whippet and Tweed, a pedigree Bedlington Terrier that we became involved with BTRF and wanted to help in any way we could. As a rehoming coordinator, I identify potentially suitable rehoming applicants and pass they to Julia who then matches homes to surrendered dogs.
The fundraising committee is responsible for generating the funds we need for our work on a day-to-day basis, not an easy task at times like these. But the rewards are enormous. The thrill of seeing a damaged dog pass through rehab and finding its forever home makes it worth all that effort.
