We are always on the lookout for volunteers up and down the country to either visit a dog that needs to be rehomed, check a new home to see if it is suitable or to be added to our list of volunteers who can be called upon for varies roles to support our Area Coordinators.
Ideally these should be people who have had practical experience with Bedlingtons, happy to train for certain roles (i.e home checkers) and can offer help sometimes with short notice.
Help with transporation to get dogs to and from homes
We would love to hear from you if you would like to volunteer to help us! You can either contact our Group Coordinator, France Fuller on 01559 384499 / 07398 779515. You can also email Kaye Scott on email@example.com. Alternatively you can complete our online Volunteers Form and we will contact you.
Do I need any training to become a home checker?
The answer to this is Yes. Training will be given for home checking as it is not just simply a case of going into a home and checking fences and secure gardens! There is much to it than that. But guidance will be given.
How much of a commitment will I be required to make?
Although all the main BTR Team are volunteers, they are totally committed to their roles on the team. Therefore, yes there is a commitment and all volunteers will be expected to report to our Group Coordinator, Frances Fuller on a regular basis. We are a very friendly team who are passionate about the breed and will encourage any new volunteers to work together as part of that team.
