FOSTER DOG UPDATE

We currently have seven very special dogs in long-term or forever foster care. We
thought it was time to share an update with you on how each of them is doing.

Over the past few years we’ve noticed a growing trend: more and more dogs are

being surrendered to us with complex medical needs and, often, behavioural
     challenges too.

This means they can’t be adopted straight away – not only is it almost impossible to

find homes prepared to take on dogs with costly medical conditions that would not
be covered by pet insurance, but also all of these dogs need to be under the careful

management of the BTRF care teams and veterinary teams who oversee their
     treatment plans.

As you can imagine, this puts huge pressure on our funds and our volunteers.

Coming up with new and sustainable ways to raise money is an ever-increasing
challenge. But with your support, we will continue to give these dogs the care and

comfort they need for as long as we possibly can.

Tegan is four years old. She joined us in Autumn 2023. She is a brave,

determined little girl who has captured our hearts. Thanks to specialist
investigations and treatment at the brilliant The Renew Centre, we now
understand her health issues much better so we are starting to put together a

treatment plan for her. This plan will be lifelong, but she’s in safe and

              experienced hands.

You can read more of Tegan’s journey here:
