  • Help us find Carys a forever home!

We did a call out for potential foster homes (with a view to adopt) for her just recently. We have had just a couple of enquiries that we are following up at the moment but we need more!

As a reminder, Carys has been with us for a short while now and in that time the BTRF care team have worked their magic and done what they do best to care for our special dogs.

She came to us at the age of just under 5 years, in a very sorry state – ears that really needed treating for serious infections, poor skin and gut health (so often the case with many of the Beddies that come to us). She is also a very nervous little girl and our behaviour team is currently working with her to help her through this, to gradually build her trust and her confidence to the outside world.

She is doing so well now that her care team feel she is ready to go to the next stage of her rehabilitation in a more permanent foster home.

The home we are looking for is quite specific. We need a no dog home, no young children (16+ only), absolutely no small furries or cats, a home that is quiet and settled with not too much coming and going. We will need a home where initially she will not be left while we are helping her to settle into her new home (this is often the case with any of our rescue dogs).

We also need a home who will be patient to help her gain trust in her new ‘Lovely People’ and understand that she will not cope with lots of fuss and attention while she is getting to know you. Once she does know you, however she can be quite the little cuddle bunny!

The home will need to continue to work with our appointed behaviourist to oversee her diet and medical care. But also, will need to have the time and patience to help her build her confidence around meeting new people.

Ideally, we will be looking initially for a home in the Cheshire area so that we can arrange several Meet and Greets while she gets to know her new family.

If you feel you can offer Carys a foster home (with a view to adopt) and you meet all the requirements that we are looking for, please contact us at support@bedlingtonrescue.co.uk
