• Bedlington Terrier Association Fun Day

  • Frances and I started our day at 7am and began our 3 hour car journey from West Wales to Chieveley in Berkshire to attend the Bedlington Terrier Association Fun Day.

We arrived to drizzle and cloud but very quickly once we had set up the BTR stand the sun started to come out and the day got better and better as it went on!

It was a lovely day with lots going and the highlight of the day was the Fun Dog Show with plenty of classes for everyone to enter. Chris Harris, BTR's Surrey Area Coordinator was the judge for the day and she did a grand job which was very difficult with so many owners showing off their Bedlingtons - of all difference shapes, sizes and colours! All types were represented - pet, working and show type - which was lovely to see!

We met several of our rescue dogs from over the years including a happy little girl who is now 15 years old! It was nice to be able to put faces to the names. Many people bought goods from the stand and many dropped coins and notes into our collection boxes. Chris Harris had the stand next to us and she very kindly donated the proceeds of this to BTR.

It was an amazingly successful day - we met many old friends and made lots of new supporters and in all made a wonderful £230.00 for BTR on the day.

Thank you to Trudie from BTA for organising the day, to Chris Harris for judging and to everyone who donated and came along to support us and to say 'Hello'. The money raised will all be put to good use in helping Bedlingtons and their crosses find their new homes.
