EDDY THE BEDDIE
Hi all – Eddy the Beddie here! My turn to do a quick update to
include in the newsletter.
It’s summer and oh boy is it hot! I have been making the most
of my cool mat and my foster parents have been setting up my
fans for me – I’ve got them really well trained!!!
I recently had a check-up at my vets – us oldies need that from
time to time to make sure everything is functioning as it
should.
They need to keep an eye on my waterworks as my kidneys need a bit of support
now as an older gentleman, but my vet and my BTRF care team are well on it. Part of
that involves having my blood pressure checked from time to time and BTRF lent my
foster mum their special machine to do that with a little cuff that went on my leg
too! The vet showed mum how to use it and that means they are also trained now in
taking my BP – as it’s referred to!! How clever are they!!!
Generally though, I am doing well – my ears are great and my eyes that have been an
issue for me in the past are pretty good too, thanks to my special diet and
supplements that keep me in tip top condition – I’m having a trial on kangaroo and a
bit of duck as a variety for my dinners and I have to say I’m very much enjoying these
trials!
One little concern is that my back legs are getting a bit more creaky and stiff, so my
mum and dad have reported this back to my care team at BTRF. There are plans
afoot to look at tweaking my medication too as a result because they absolutely
don’t want me to be uncomfortable in my twilight years. So, watch this space!!!
That’s me for now – ticking along pretty well! Huge thank you to all my Sponsors and
to all our supporters who regularly empty their piggy banks for us foster dogs – BTRF
couldn’t do what they do to keep us all fit and happy without your support – so
thank you!
Take care everyone and stay cool out there.
